Angelina Jolie has dismissed rumours that she will be starring as Marilyn Monroe in a new biopic.
The actress said at last night’s premiere of her new movie Salt that she was “flattered” by the speculation.
“It’s really funny because I have just heard about this for the first time today,” she told Sky News.“It’s news to me. I’m flattered I suppose.”
Jolie reportedly landed the plum role in a big screen adaptation of the novel The Life And Opinions Of Maf The Dog And His Friend Marilyn Monroe.
George Clooney was rumoured to have been cast as Monroe’s ex-lover Frank Sinatra.
Jolie plays a CIA agent in Salt who is accused of being a Russian spy.
She took over the role in the action thriller from Tom Cruise.
Jolie said: “I did a lot of the stunts myself. I got a gash, a little scar right on the bridge of my nose but that was something very silly I did rolling into a table.”
